In recent years Vizio electronics has come from an obscure company, that few even knew existed, into one of the top manufacturers of LCD TVs. This is partially due to the fact that Vizio has managed to deliver high quality products, including ones that deliver full high definition, and still manage to sell their TVs for a relatively inexpensive price.
One of their newest models is available to order on Amazon.com and their 42 LCD TV promises to deliver a great picture at an affordable price.
The Vizio E420V0 is a 1080p LCD with SRS TruVolume and surround sound. It comes with two HDMI ports to hook up your tivo hd dvr and blu ray player, so you can take full advantage of the 1080p picture quality. Any high definition shows you watch on TV will just be shows broadcast in 1080i.
Almost all reviews I have read have been of happy customers who say they’d purchase it again if they had the chance. The main concern with Vizio TV’s is their sound. I personally don’t have this model but I have two others. One is a 22 LCD TV and the other is a 37 LCD TV. They both have been great but the built in speaker sometimes is disappointing. I think it displays color very well and comparing it to my Samsung or Sony I notice very little difference. The blacks are well defined and the colors are vivid.
This TV also meets the standards of energy star, so using this newer TV might help you save a buck or two on electricity if you replace your older energy sucking television.
The bottom line is if you are looking for a 42 LCD TV with full HD, you aren’t going to beat the price of this Vizio. You might find some 42 inch LCDs that seem to be cheaper but when you read the box you will notice that it is going to say that the TV is a 1080i or only a 60 hz. This is a 120hz 1080p that is the best you will find in this mid range price. This is a great price for this size TV and with it’s features. No, it probably won’t look as nice if you lined it up to a Samsung side by side, but then again you might not be able to tell the difference. This is a case of a lesser known company becoming better known by selling high quality TV sets at prices almost anyone can afford. The Vizio E420V0 is a great example of their rise from obscurity.
